Presentation types
The conference welcomes a range of presentation formats designed to encourage professional exchange, innovation, and collaboration among participants. The following presentation types are offered to provide presenters with diverse opportunities to share their research, teaching experiences, and best practices.
Research Presentation (30 minutes)
A research presentation involves a 20-minute talk describing a research study through which the presenter aims to raise awareness of a topic related to the conference theme, followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer session. Any research type (including action research or classroom research) may form the basis of this presentation.
The presenter is expected to provide a brief overview of their study by sharing the research question, an outline of the methodology and the data analysis procedure briefly. Emphasis should be placed on presenting key findings, discussing the insights gained, and highlighting the future implications of the study. The presenter is kindly requested to deliver their presentation naturally, making occasional reference to their notes or slides when necessary.
Workshop (45 minutes)
A workshop is a 45-minute interactive session in which the presenter or facilitator creates an opportunity for hands-on practice or collaborative participation. The aim is to help the audience gain awareness of a new idea, technique or procedure in the context of teaching and learning.
The presenter or facilitator is expected to create an environment that fosters audience participation through tasks, such as role-plays or engaging discussions. This participatory session ultimately targets both cognitive and practical engagement, enabling the audience to gain new insights and skills that they can apply in their own professional contexts.
Sharing Session (20 minutes)
A sharing session involves presenting a unique teaching or learning idea, approach, implementation, or best practice. The aim of the sharing sessions is to offer a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies, allowing participants to gain fresh insights and practical takeaways for their own classrooms. They also provide a platform for collaboration and feedback, encouraging presenters to exchange ideas and inspire their colleagues.
Sharing sessions are not necessarily research-based; instead, they are designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and effective teaching practices. This dynamic format provides an opportunity for the audience to engage with presenters, ask questions, and discuss potential applications.
Each presenter will have 15 minutes to deliver their presentation, followed by a 5-minute question and answer session.
Poster Presentation (30 minutes)
The aim of a poster presentation is to visually present the findings of a research study related to the conference theme. Submissions should clearly present the objectives, methodology, data analysis, and implications of the study.
Posters should be visually appealing and legible from a distance of one to two meters. The size of the posters should be 130cm X 100cm. Each presenter will be scheduled to stand by their poster for 30 minutes during the conference to present their work and answer questions from attendees. Poster presentations will be scheduled for either 8 or 9 May 2025.
