Submission Guidelines

The speakers are required to submit their proposals online. The deadline for proposal submission has been extended to 27 February 2015 due to high demand. Acceptance notifications will be issued by 30 March 2015.

Submissions should include a 250-word summary, a 60-word abstract and a 30-word bio. The proposal should, at no instance, include or refer to the name of the presenter or presenters or the name of their institution for objectivity purposes.

Proposal for an interactive research paper presentation

The proposal should summarize the purpose of the study with supporting evidence from literature, the relevance of the study to the theme of the convention, the methodology including the data collection and analysis procedures, and the findings. It should also include the insights of the researcher(s) gained from the process as well as the future or classroom implications of the study.

Proposal for a workshop

The proposal should provide a brief summary of the philosophy behind the idea or procedure to be presented and clearly explain how the idea or procedure is relevant to the theme of the convention. It should also describe the steps that the presenter intends to follow while delivering the workshop.

Proposal for an e-session

The proposal should clearly establish relevance between the convention theme and the application/software. It should also provide clear information about the technology or software in question and how it can be acquired. A brief summary of the steps of the applicant(s) that the presenter will demonstrate is expected in the proposal.

Proposal for a PhD workshop

The proposal should clearly describe the problem the doctoral student focuses on the dissertation, explain its importance in the field and give an outline of the methodology as well as the solutions proposed. The submission should also include the motivation behind applying for a PhD workshop and what the applicant hopes to gain out of it.

Proposal for a poster presentation

The poster should summarize the purpose of the study, the relevance of the study to the theme of the convention, the methodology and the findings. It should also include the insights of the researcher(s) gained from the process as well as the future or classroom implications of the study.

Criteria for Selection

Selection will be carried out by a board of referees. Originality, novelty of issue, relevance to the theme and adherence to the above guidelines will be the major criteria for selection. Please note that the conveners reserve the right to decline proposals without providing reason. Notification of accepted proposals will be made by Monday, 30 March 2015 and the program will be made available on the convention website as of Monday, 27 April 2015.
