Presentation types

Oral Presentation (30 minutes)

The aim of an oral presentation is to share with the audience a research methodology about how to address a current or future challenge on language teaching or learning so as to create the opportunity to discuss implications. The presenter is expected to provide only a brief overview of the study conducted by sharing the research question, the outline of the methodology and the data analysis procedure in brief. The emphasis should be kept on the findings, the insights gained and the future implications. Presenters are kindly requested to deliver their reports with occasional reference to their notes or slides.

Workshop (45 minutes)

The aim of a workshop is to create opportunity for hands-on practice through which participants will gain awareness of a new idea or procedure that may help them address challenges for the teachers or learners by working through a series of tasks either as teachers or by assuming the role of learners. Hence, the presenter should be the guide leading the participants through the various stages of the workshop that will eventually enable the audience to gain insight into the new idea or procedure.

Covi-Tech session (45 minutes)

This is a new type of presentation that we would like to introduce to our participants reflecting upon the current pandemic situation. In this session, we would like to hear your reflections on your experiences with technology, such as systems or programs you met for the first time and became a fan of with online education, tools that have become life-saviors during online education, apps you are planning to continue using in face-to-face education and so on. These are 45-minute presentations where the presenter shows the participants how to apply one technology or piece of software that has facilitated their teaching, motivated themselves and/or the students and has been an asset during the pandemic. All presenters are expected to show applications related to classroom use. Presenters are kindly asked to provide handouts describing how to use the application/software.

Poster presentation (30 minutes)

The aim of a poster is to visually present the findings of a research study related to the theme of the conference. The submission should clearly indicate the methodology, data analysis and the implications of the study. Posters should be designed such that they are visually attractive and legible from one to two meters. The presenters are required to include the objectives, key parts of procedures and methods, results and conclusion in the poster. Each presenter will be timetabled to present for 30 minutes at their poster during the conference. The poster presentations will be scheduled for either 17 or 18 June 2022 for in-person participants, and the posters will be shared on our virtual platform to make it accesible to all the delegates.
